After failing as an entrepreneur in FY, I worked as a Sales Executive in FMCG companies in my 4th and 5th years of college. I distinctly remember my experience in Nestle India Ltd, where we were selling sunrise coffee to roadside tea joints and cycleman who used to sell coffee on cycles in Mumbai. In this job, I learned how to make the customer experience/taste your product/coffee which improves their buy-in. I also learned the power of referrals in this job. The cyclewalas were a bunch of Tamil South Indians, so once we convinced a few key influencers, it became easier for us to persuade others to use Sunrise coffee and not Bru coffee.
